Dear Friends and Members:
Over one hundred and sixty years ago, a forward-thinking group of citizens founded an organization to record and preserve the history of Yates County. We are so grateful for their vision, which has allowed us to tell the story of this wonderful region for so many generations.
We do this through providing professional care for the historic archives, photographs, and objects so important to our Yates County predecessors; through informational and engaging exhibits and tours; and through free or low-cost lectures, workshops, or historic craft classes. We are the only local museum dedicated solely to Yates County history, and we are writing to you today because we know how important it is to you that we continue our mission.
This year has been full of change and new situations for many of us. To keep everyone safe, we have changed as protocols have changed. But as we navigate the ever-shifting times of this pandemic, our focus has never wavered: to provide high quality, engaging and educational content to the public. We have managed to do this safely throughout this challenging time, first with free lectures, historic craft lessons and workshops via Zoom and our Vimeo page, and next through outdoor, in-person lectures and tours. We hope that you partook of some of our virtual or in-person offerings this year and found them enjoyable and educational.
We also hope that through your ongoing generosity, we may continue to offer educational programming, exhibits and historic preservation. Please know that we are deeply grateful for any amount you can contribute, and no amount is too small. We thank you in advance for your kind donation.
Sincerely,
Tricia Noel
